Lady Vol Softball Releases Challenging 2013 SEC Softball Schedule

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - With the upcoming addition of Missouri and Texas A&M to the Southeastern Conference on July 1, the SEC has released a newly-designed league slate for softball starting during the 2013 campaign.
Each team is now scheduled to face-off against just eight of the 13 softball playing members over separate three-game series for a total of 24 contests.
The Tennessee Lady Vol softball squad wastes no time in being challenged, opening its upcoming league campaign by hosting the SEC Western Division rival Alabama Crimson Tide over March 8-10 before heading out on the road to Gainesville, Fla., to battle the Florida Gators over March 15-17.
Other home league series slated for Lee Softball Stadium include new SEC entrant Texas A&M (March 22-24), Auburn (April 12-14) and Arkansas (April 26-28).
In conference play the Big Orange will also venture out on the road to Georgia (April 5-7), Ole Miss (April 19-21) and additional new entrant Missouri (May 3-5).
The Tennessee softball team won't face Kentucky, South Carolina, LSU or Mississippi State during the 2013 conference schedule.
