The No. 2 Tennessee men's golf team returns to action on Monday as they compete in the Wolf Pack Classic hosted by the University of Nevada at Wolf Run Golf Club, a par-72, 7,100-yard course, in Reno, Nev.
The Vols are coming off a second place finish at the PING/Golfweek Preview Invitational on Sept. 30. This is their first appearance in the Wolf Pack Classic.
The field for the event features Air Force, Arizona, Fresno State, Iowa State, No. 31 Kansas State, Louisiana-Monroe, New Mexico State, Sacramento State, Saint Mary's, University of Texas-El Paso, Wichita State and host Nevada.
Arizona won last year's Wolf Pack Classic, claiming a 16-stroke victory over Iowa with a three-round total of 14-under-par 850. Arizona's Tyler Neal was the individual medalist at 6-under-par 211.
Tennessee's lineup includes Robin Wingardh, Cameron Lawrence, David Holmes, Chris Paisley and Darren Renwick. Garrick Porteous will compete as an individual.
Wingardh will play at the No. 1 position for UT. The sophomore won his first collegiate tournament at the PING/Golfweek Preview Invitational, tying for medalist honors with a 54-hole total of 6-under-par 207.
Lawrence will be at the No. 2 position. Lawrence also finished in the top 10 at the PING/Golfweek Preview, where his fifth-place finish, 54-hole total of 212 and first-round 68 all set career-bests for the sophomore.
Holmes follows next for the Volunteers at No. 3. Holmes has a 73.17 scoring average and has finished in the top 30 twice this season.
Next in the No. 4 position is senior Chris Paisley. The senior has three rounds of par or better this season and one top 10 finish.
Rounding out the Tennessee lineup at No. 5 is freshman Darren Renwick who has seen action in both UT tournaments this season.
Fellow newcomer Garrick Porteous will be making his first appearance in a collegiate tournament, competing as an individual.
Teams will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes in Tuesday's final round with the action teeing off with a shotgun start each day at 11 a.m. Eastern Time.
Results will be available at www.utsports.com at the end of each day.
