Tennis Tandem Cruises On First Day Of ITA All-American

Doubles Draw??
PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. ??? University of Tennessee sophomores Caitlin Whoriskey and Zs??fia Zubor wasted little time disposing of their opponent in the opening round of the doubles qualifying draw at the Riviera/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Women???s All-American Tennis Championships presented by Fila, Tuesday morning in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
The 10th-ranked Lady Vol doubles team, seeded second in the qualifying draw, was perfect on the day, defeating the Illinois duo of Megan Fudge and Leah Finnegan by an 8-0 score. Whoriskey and Zubor will move on to face Sarah Fansler and Leyla Enterkhabi of Southern California at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The USC combo, ranked No. 54 in the nation, advanced to the second round with an 8-4 triumph over Princeton???s pairing of Taylor Marable and Rebecca Parks.
Upon completion of this tournament, the Big Orange will next be in action when the team travels to Chapel Hill, N.C., for the ITA Southeast Regional, Oct. 18-21.
