Tennessee co-Coach Karen Weekly
"I thought pitching was the difference in the game today. Both Megan and Monica pitched really tough today. We never let them (Alabama) get on a roll. When they get a hit, get a runner on base and put pressure on you, that's when they're tough to beat. We did a great job of never giving them any chance of getting on a roll. (On missed scoring opportunities) That seems like it's the story of our team. If we're still winning with it, that's OK, but I keep telling our team that if they want to advance in the postseason, we'll have to start getting production from the middle of our lineup."
Tennessee Pitcher Megan Rhodes
"I was really happy with the way I pitched today. I have to give credit to our defense, though. We took advantage of some breaks to take them out of a couple of rallies. It doesn't matter who we play tomorrow. We'll take the same attitude into that game that we had today."
Alabama Assistant Coach Alyson Habetz
"It's always going to be a great game when we play against Tennessee. They scored early, and we had some opportunities to answer but we couldn't pull them through. It's a tough loss. We obviously wanted to win the SEC Tournament."
Alabama Pitcher Stephanie VanBrakle
"We've both got good teams, so you had to expect a game like this. It's disappointing that we had to lose, but we still have a long way to go. We'll go home now and get ready for a regional and hopefully a super regional and the College World Series."
