BAXENDINE WINS FLIGHT "B" SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIP AT GEORGIA TECH

Atlanta, Ga. -- Tennessee men's tennis player David Baxendine won twice Sunday to capture the Flight "B" singles championship at the Georgia Tech Fall Invitational.
"We finished the tournament quite strongly today," head coach Chris Mahony said. "I'm very proud of Dave for winning the tournament without dropping a set and I'm also proud of Bobby for playing well this morning against a high-quality opponent and then finding a way to win again this afternoon."
Baxendine started the day off with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Southern Mississippi's Reid Bourgeois. In the finals, the UT senior met Vanderbilt's Evan Dufaux and came away with a 7-6, 7-6 victory. For the tournament, Baxendine won five matches without ever losing a set.
Bobby Cameron won twice Sunday against SEC competition in the consolation bracket for Flight "A" singles. Cameron defeated Jakob Klaeson of Ole Miss 6-1, 6-1. In his final match of the tournament, Cameron beat Marcus Sundh of Kentucky 6-1, 2-6, 6-4.
Cameron and Kaden Hensel dropped their Flight "A" doubles semifinal match against the tournament's No. 1 seed, Georgia Tech's Scott Blackmon and Zachary Rath 8-4.
The tennis team travels to Memphis, Tenn., on Wednesday to participate in the ITA Southeast Regional Indoor Tennis Championships.
