Tennessee Head Coach Angela Kelly
"I think we realized at halftime we were pretty fortunate to be in a 0-0 position. I think Furman took it to us in the first half, and it's a credit to Coach Lee and his program that they were so organized and ready to play. In learning from Coach Summitt, you just have to survive and advance. I think we just realized that we had to put the first half behind us, tighten things up defensively and continue to attack and they did that well. They listened to what I told them at halftime and they implemented it into the game. I thought they did a good job executing the game plan.
Tennessee forward Lyndsey Patterson
"I knew I had to go at them (Furman), so I kept my head down and I was like, I 'm going to get this. I just relaxed on my shot. I was just trying to read the defense, and if I take it inside I'm going to shoot.
Tennessee midfielder Sue Flamini
"I've been with this team for four years, and I know when we choose to play we can hang with anyone. I have confidence in our team. It's do-or-die now and none of us want to die.
Furman Head Coach Brian Lee
"I give full credit to their team for coming out in the second half like that, and I thought they really dictated the second half.
"She (Lyndsey Patterson) came clean and kind of uncontested at the top of the box. It was a good strike, and they've got some good players. If they are going to have that much time of possession at our end of the field, eventually one of their players is going to find the back of the net.
Furman goalkeeper Andie Hinshaw
"We came out flat in the second half. It was a completely different game from the first half to the second half. Eventually they were going to put one away. On the wet surface we couldn't get over in time to stop them. The big difference in the game was not getting a goal early.
