Alex Suarez's leadoff home run in the seventh inning broke a 5-5 deadlock to lead Tennessee to an 8-6 win at East Tennessee State Tuesday night.
The Vols went on to score two more runs in the seventh following Suarez blast and held on for their third win in the last four games.
Brandon Crowe, who pitched 6 1/3 innings in relief, improved his mark to 2-0 on the season.
Five Tennessee players recorded at least two hits, led by shortstop Brian Cleveland's three singles.
The Vols return home tomorrow night for a 7 p.m. game against UNC-Asheville at Lindsey Nelson Stadium before resuming SEC play Friday at Kentucky to begin a three-game series against the Wildcats.
