TENNESSEE ROWERS SET TO CONCLUDE FALL SEASON AT RIVANNA ROMP

Head Coach Lisa Glenn's Lady Vol rowing team will race in its final event of the fall season when it travels to Charlottesville, Va., for the Rivanna Romp on Sunday, Nov. 16. The competition is scheduled to include crews from two 2003 NCAA Championship participants, Ohio State and Virginia, as well as squads from Buffalo, Cincinnati and Duke.
Tennessee will enter three shells in the day's premier event, the Varsity 8+, which is slated to begin at 9 a.m. Comprising the "A" boat will be Lizzie Brown (cox.), Nicole Bold, Kaitlin Bargreen, Chelsea Pemberton, Lauren Wells, McKenzie Craig, Dana Forbes, Sara Hutcheson and Andrea Bagwell. UT's "B" shell will be powered by Erin Artz (cox.), Marissa Allen, Beth Schwartz, Melissa DiCerbo, Eileen Welsh, Amy McIntosh, Lindsay Jones, Rachel Mayberry and Amy McCormick, while Molly Oellerich, Holly Holmes, Jaclyn Adams, Diane Samu, Ashley Anders, Ryan Bush, Kathryn Payne, Caitlyn Cleary and Katie Peterson will team up in the "C" boat.
In other varsity action, the Lady Vols will have four entrants in the Fours race at 11 a.m., while they will send two shells to the water for the Pairs competition, scheduled to commence at noon.
The lone novice event in which UT will enter shells is the Eight, which will be held at 10 a.m.
A strong showing at this weekend's regatta will bolster an already impressive fall resume. In addition to amassing a combined seven gold medals at the Chattanooga Head Race and the Head of the Tennessee, the Orange and White had the program's best showing at the prestigious Head of the Charles in Boston. The Varsity 8+ shell finished among the top 10 collegiate participants and defeated three squads that earned trips to last year's NCAA Championships. Additionally, the Club 8+ brought home second-place honors, which marked the third-consecutive year in which Coach Glenn's team has finished in the top two in the race.
