Freshman Ali Christoph (Columbus, Ohio) continued to reap the benefits of an outstanding effort last weekend against No. 5 Florida and South Carolina, as she was selected to Soccer America's 11-member Team of the Week. The midfielder became the second Lady Vol honored by the publication this year, as junior All-American defender Keeley Dowling (Carmel, Ind.) was recognized on Sept. 2 and Sept. 16. No. 23 Tennessee (9-4/3-1 SEC) will resume action on Friday night against Arkansas (6-5-2/2-2 SEC) in Fayetteville at 7 p.m. CT.
GOALKEEPER
Heather Hinton (Hartford), Sr. (1)
Makes career-best 16 saves against ranked Connecticut as the Hawks pull out a 1-0 upset win.
DEFENDERS
Amy LePeilbet (Arizona State), Sr. (1)
Scores an incredible 45-yard free kick that carries Sun Devils to a 1-0 victory over Stanford; main factor in shutting down Cal.
Asia Simons (Tulane), Sr. (1)
Scored opening goal in the 2-1 win over South Florida and first goal -- 35-yard free kick -- and Golden Goal -- penalty kick -- in 4-3 victory over UAB.
Melissa Tancredi (Notre Dame), Sr. (2)
Leads Notre Dame defense that posts three shutout victories, extending shutout streak to 584 minutes.
MIDFIELDERS
Ali Christoph (Tennessee), Fr. (1)
Outstanding in midfield against ranked Florida (2-0) and figures in all three goals -- penalty kick and two assists -- against South Carolina (3-2).
Samantha Meister (Bowling Green), Soph. (1)
Sets school and Mid-American record with four goals as the Falcons rally from a two-goal deficit in 78th minute for a 4-3 overtime win at Northern Illinois.
Kristen Strutz (Texas A&M), Sr. (2)
Contributes two goals and an assist against Texas Tech (8-0) and two second-half goals against Baylor (3-0)
FORWARDS
Leah Gallegos (Florida State), Soph. (1)
Scores once against UCF and twice against ranked Duke in a pair of 3-0 wins.
Natasha Kai (Hawaii), Soph. (1)
Has all five goals for the Rainbow Wahine in 4-1 win over Nevada and a 1-0 win over Boise State, both on the road, to give her 21 goals this season.
Kelly McDonald (Texas), Jr. (1)
Scores all four goals against Baylor (4-0) and adds goal and two assists against Texas Tech (5-0).
Iris Mora (UCLA), Soph. (1)
Assists on all three goals in 3-2 overtime victory over Washington; scores first goal on a bending corner kick in 2-1 OT win over Washington State and match-winner in 2-0 win over San Diego.
