Cross Country Vols picked to finish fourth in SEC

Tennessee's cross country squad was picked to finish fourth in the Southeastern Conference in a poll of the league's coaches. The Vols tallied 61 points. Arkansas was picked to win the conference with 96 points and eight of 10 first-place votes. Alabama picked up the remaining two first-place votes with a second-place projection of 86 points. Florida followed in third with 83 points. Mississippi State and South Carolina don't have men's cross country teams. The Vol harriers open the 2001 campaign Sept. 7 at the UTC Opener in Chattanooga.
