A native of Hendersonville, NC, Jake Patterson obtained bachelor’s degrees in public policy and economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
At Carolina, Patterson served as an intern in the athletic communications office for three years, was the president of UNC’s Lutheran Campus Ministry, and a volunteer at Chapel Hill’s Community Empowerment Fund. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and a Morehead-Cain Scholar.
Prior to his senior year, Patterson was an in-house communications intern for the American Junior Golf Association. In the summer before his junior year, he traveled the United States as a professional golf caddie and wrote a blog called “Looper’s Line.” He cannot wait for what’s in store on Rocky Top and is thrilled to be spending a year learning about all aspects of college athletics.
