Max Potter joined the Tennessee Media Relations staff as a graduate assistant in the summer of 2021. He serves as the women's tennis contact and also is a member of the football communications team.
Throughout Tennessee's highly successful 2022 football season, Potter managed media requests specific to eventual Biletnikoff Award winner and unanimous All-American Jalin Hyatt. Potter also facilitated multiple player features with national media outlets such as The Athletic, CBS Sports, ESPN.com and ESPN College GameDay.
During the 2022 college baseball season, Potter assumed the role of Tennessee's primary baseball contact for one month. During that stint, the Vols were ranked No. 1 nationally and won the SEC Tournament.
Potter came to Knoxville following an undergraduate career at TCU, where he worked in the athletic communications department. For three years, he served as the primary contact for the Horned Frogs' equestrian program, planning and executing all social media, press releases, statistics and award nominations. Potter also played a key role in the operation of home events and traveled with the team to Big 12 and NCAA championship competitions.
Potter boasts proficiencies in NCAA LiveStats by Genius software for football, basketball, soccer and volleyball.
He graduated from TCU's Neeley School of Business in May of 2021 with a degree in Finance and a minor in Accounting.
In the Spring of 2023, Potter was selected by the University of Tennessee as a "Volunteer of Distinction," in recognition of outstanding academic performance.
