Georgi Cravero begins her first season on Rocky Top in 2023-24 after joining the team in the fall of 2023.
Cravero is an extremely talented former professional tennis player who brings 13 years of experience to the Lady Volunteers. She played in all four grand slam tournaments: the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open.
Prior to relocating to Knoxville, Cravero was most recently the Director of High Performance at Tucker Tennis Academy (USTA Regional Tennis Center) in Tulsa, Okla., from 2012-2023.
At Tucker Tennis Academy, she coached and developed national and academy junior players, as well as prepared the annual tennis tournament calendar for all high-performance players. She also designed each class, drill and lesson plans for the Elite Class for competitive players ages 9-12, selected the captain for the USTA Junior Team for the Missouri Valley section and coordinated the U10 Red Ball Class for players ages 5-8.
Cravero finished her professional career ranked No. 106 in singles and No. 113 in doubles by the Women’s Tennis Association. Over her established career she claimed 15 singles titles and 33 doubles titles.
In junior tennis, she was a member of the South American championship Team Cup and was tagged by the ITF Junior World at No. 85 in singles and No. 27 in doubles.
A member of the Argentinian Team in the Junior Fed Cup, Cravero was ranked No. 1 in singles and doubles in the South American ranking at ages 14 and 16 years old.
Cravero was inducted into the Argentinean Hall of Fame as a gold member in 2012.
In 2007, Cravero claimed a gold medal in doubles at the Pan-American games held in Rio de Janeiro. She was also a member of the Argentinean FED Cup team during 2007-2010.
Cravero is a US Open Coaching Symposium, USTA High Performance Coach, an Argentinean National Certified Coach and a Certified Mental Coach.
She earned her high school degree with a Natural Sciences emphasis at Dr. N. Avelleneda High School in San Francisco, Argentina.
Cravero originally hails from San Francisco, Córdoba, Argentina, and has a husband, Matias, and two children, Martina and Ignacio (nicknamed Nacho).
