Chas Narramore (first name pronounced as Chase) joined the Tennessee women's golf program as an assistant coach in November of 2018. The 2020-21 season marked his third year on former head coach Judi Pavon's staff.
Narramore arrived on Rocky Top after spending a portion of the fall of 2018 as the assistant coach at Middle Tennessee. During his time on staff there, he helped guide the Blue Raiders to two top-three tournament finishes, including a runner-up showing at the Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate, hosted by UT.
Five Blue Raiders golfers posted top-25 finishes during events in the fall of 2018, including at least one in each tournament in which the team competed.
“I’m excited about what Chas brings to our progam,” Pavon said. “He has all of the background in an assistant coach that one looks for. I think it’s great when you have a great player on staff, because it immediately elevates the play of the team. He really impacts our putting and short game.
“He's very well known and respected in the golf community, which is a great thing for us in the state. He's a great representative for Tennessee and really helps us on the course—particularly with our putting and short game—as well as in recruiting. Our players work really well with him.”
Before entering the coaching ranks, Narramore competed on various professional golf circuits such as the Web.com Tour and PGA Tour Latinoamerica dating to 2009.
He played in 26 events on the Web.com Tour, including 21 during the 2016 tour season. His highest finish on the Web.com Tour came in 2016 when Narramore tied for 19th at the Rex Hospital Open.
As a collegiate golfer at Middle Tennessee, the Kingston, Tennessee, native was a three-time All-Sun Belt honoree and was the first men’s golfer in program history to qualify for the NCAA Championships as an individual, doing so in 2007. Then, in 2008, Narramore led the Blue Raiders to their first-ever team appearance at the NCAA Championships. His squad made the cut and finished 15th nationally.
Narramore earned his degree from Middle Tennessee in 2009.
