2023-24 - GRADUATE
- Spring season boat record: 29-1
- Competed primarily in the 2V4+ boat during the season.
- A part of the Lady Vols’ second varsity four crew, placed second at the Big 12 Championships (5/19/24), logging a time of 7:05.406. Tennessee finished 17.681 seconds ahead of third-place Alabama.
- As a member of Tennessee’s second varsity four crew for the final round of the Lake Wheeler Invitational, collected a race win with a final time of 7:25.092. That mark was 8.476 seconds faster than second-place Iowa and 16.154 seconds better than Alabama, who finished third.
- Collected a win in the 2V4+ boat during round two at the Lake Wheeler Invitational, with a final time of 7:44.008.
- Registered a final winning time of 7:36.468 in UT’s 2V4+ race during the first round of the Lake Wheeler Invitational (4/26/24).
- Capped an incredibly successful weekend at the Big Ten Invitational (4/20/24) for Tennessee by posting a victory in the 3V8+ with a final time of 6:41.996.
- While in the Lady Vols' 2V4+ boat, posted an impressive race victory with a final time of 7:25.556 during the afternoon session on day one of the Big Ten Invitational (4/19/24).
- Rowed to a race win in the morning session’s second varsity four race on day one of the Big Ten Invitational (4/19/24). The crew’s winning time of 7:14.667 was over five seconds ahead of Michigan's 2V4+.
- Posted a race win in Tennessee’s home dual versus Minnesota (3/29/24) in Oak Ridge as part of the Lady Vols’ 2V4+ crew, crossing the line over 22 seconds ahead of the Gophers with a time of 7:23.5.
2022-23 - SENIOR
- Competed in the 2V8 boat during the season.
- Spring season boat record: 36-6.
- Won a silver medal at the Big 12 Championship to finish second thanks to a strong 6:32.137 effort (5/14/23).
- Posted a 7:06.9 mark for a win over the Tar Heels at the UVA Invite (4/29/23).
- Notched a 14-1 record at the Lake Wheeler Invitational (4/21-22/23) with wins over No. 9 Syracuse, RV Alabama, RV Boston, RV Clemson, UCF, Georgetown, Navy, North Carolina, Louisville, Oklahoma and Boston College.
- Threw down a 6:49.259 effort, which was the third-fastest time of the day from the second varsity eights, for a first-place finish to round out the Invite.
- Won the first race of the regatta thanks to an impressive 6:27.189 time, which was the third-fastest mark by a second varsity eight boat during the morning and was faster than 14 of the first varsity eights.
- Crossed the finish line in first place with a time of 6:33.314 leading RV Iowa by more than five seconds during the second day of the Big Ten Invitational (4/8/2023).
- Threw down the fastest time of 6:39.260 placing first against No. 19 Alabama, RV Iowa and RV Wisconsin during the first day of the Big Ten Invitational (4/7/2023).
- The effort bested the times of the varsity eight boats from Michigan State, Minnesota, UCF, UCLA, and Wisconsin during the morning session.
- Crossed the finish line nearly eight seconds ahead of the Crimson Tide and 14 seconds ahead of the Sooners at the home dual against Alabama and Oklahoma (4/1/2023).
- Earned Big 12 Boat of the Week honors following a 6-2 performance during the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invite.
- Opened the season with a 6-2 record during the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invite with wins over RV Louisville, RV Clemson, RV Alabama and RV Wisconsin (3/18-19/23).
- Finished less than 0.1 seconds behind Duke to take second with a 6:31.361 effort, besting Wisconsin lightweight and Louisville in the final session of the day.
- In the Saturday afternoon session, the 2V8 clocked an impressive 6:22.623 time, narrowly off of the Big Orange’s top boat, garnering wins against Alabama, Clemson and Wisconsin.
2021-22 - JUNIOR
- Member of the 2V4 boat.
- Competed in the Princeton Invitational and Big 12 Championships.
2020-21 - SOPHOMORE
- Helped guide Tennessee to a 17th-place team finish at the 2021 NCAA Championships.
- Part of the 2V8 group that earned the highest finish for Tennessee during the NCAA Championships, placing 16th in the country after posting a time of 6:48.972 in the C Final.
- Placed second in the 2V8 at the Big 12 Championships with a time of 7:10.357.
- Won two of three races in the 2V8 at the Big Ten Invitational, besting No. 7 Alabama, No. 15 Wisconsin, and No. 17 Minnesota on day one, and edging out No. 17 Minnesota, Notre Dame, and Michigan State on day two.
- Rowed six seat in the 2V8 that claimed wins over UCF and No. 3 Virginia at the UVA Invite with times of 7:13.4 and 6:52.2, respectively, while finishing five seconds behind No. 10 Duke at 6:58.0 in the final session.
- In the face-off with Alabama's 2V8, placed second in a photo finish, 6:35.5 to 6:35.0.
- In the 2V8 that finished first in two of its three sessions at ORCI, besting SMU, Notre Dame, Clemson and Tulsa on day one and finishing second behind Indiana while beating Alabama on day two.
PERSONAL
- Daughter of Catherine and Walter Bernard
- Born on Aug. 20, 2001
- Majoring in biology and is deciding between medical school or becoming a researcher
- Competed with the Detroit Waterfront Rowing Association for five years
- Holds the indoor world record for the four-minute piece along with a 2019 Canadian Indoor Championship title
- Biggest sports influence is her coach, Kerry Shaffer. "She has taught me how to be a better rower and person. She has shown me how to push past my limitations and show up for myself."
- Chose UT because "of the support systems that are available to student athletes at UT and I really loved the coaches and team. The atmosphere at rowing and school just felt like it was meant to be."
- Hobbies include being outdoors and near the water with friends, family and her dog. Also loves to take photos, travel, bake and try new things.
