Isaiah Sulack joined the University of Tennessee men’s basketball program as a graduate assistant in August 2024. The Knoxville, Tenn., native is a UT alumnus and a former three-year walk-on member of the basketball team.
In 2024-25, his first year on staff, the Volunteers recorded one of their finest seasons of all-time. Tennessee finished 30-8 (12-6 SEC), advanced to the Elite Eight and tied a program best by placing fifth in the final polls. The team spent the entire year in the AP top 12, including 18 consecutive weeks in the top eight and five atop the list. Two players, Chaz Lanier and Zakai Zeigler, received All-America recognition.
A 2017 graduate of the Christian Academy of Knoxville, where he played alongside future Tennessee teammate and fellow staff member Lucas Campbell, Sulack was a 4-AA All-District honoree as a senior. He averaged 17.7 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game that season, then went to Believe Prep Academy in Rock Hill, S.C., for a post-graduate campaign in 2017-18.
Sulack began his college career at Olney Central College in Olney, Ill., and earned NJCAA All-Academic Second Team distinction as a freshman in 2018-19 after posting 12.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. He attended Bossier Parish Community College in Bossier City, La., the following year, but took a medical redshirt after four appearances.
In 2020-21, Sulack began his career at Tennessee as a scout-team contributor. The following year, he played in three games before suffering a season-ending injury in practice that led to him taking another medical redshirt. Sulack returned to health in 2022-23 and made three appearances for the Volunteers.
Over the course of his three campaigns as a player in Knoxville, Tennessee went 70-28, including 35-18 in SEC play. It made the NCAA Tournament each year, reached the Sweet 16 in 2023 and won the SEC Tournament in 2022.
Sulack, who graduated from Tennessee in December 2022 with a degree in supply chain management, spent his final collegiate year at Marist University in 2023-24. He averaged 2.1 points per game, helping the Red Foxes to an 18-13 record and a third-place finish in the MAAC at 12-8.
Currently, Sulack is pursuing a master’s degree in agricultural leadership, education and communication.
