Bio
Jimmy Colquitt's name is written all across Tennessee's punting record books. And with that came consecutive All-America nods his sophomore and junior seasons.
Colquitt concluded his career holding marks in career average at 43.9 yards, single-game punting average at 53 yards and season average at 46.9. He surpassed his uncle and former Vols punter Craig Colquitt in each category.
Colquitt achieved the whopping average his sophomore year when he was ranked second in the nation in average. Colquitt never averaged below 42 yards per kick and topped the 2,000-yard mark in yardage his first three years at Tennessee.

- Against Auburn, kicked five punts for 265 yards for an average distance of 53.0 yards — tying his own all-time Tennessee single-game record
- Launched a 55-yard fourth-quarter quick kick that was downed inside the Alabama 5-yard line
- Booted a 57-yard punt from his own end zone in the Vols' 10-0 win over Kentucky
- Recognized as an All-American by the Walter Camp Foundation
1982 - SOPHOMORE
- Punted 46 times for 2,156 yards, finishing the season with a program record 46.9 yards per punt average
- Tabbed as an All-American by Gannett News Service
- Earned second team All-SEC honors from Associated Press voters
- Recorded the greatest punting performance in Tennessee history at LSU, booting five punts for 265 yards (53.0 avg.)
1981 - FRESHMAN
- Played in 11 games during his freshman campaign, punting 58 times for a career-best 2,543 yards (43.8 avg.)
- Earned second team All-SEC honors
- Boomed six punts for a 51.0 yard average against Georgia Tech, just one yard shy of the school single-game record for punting average
- Punted seven times against Alabama for a near 49 yard average
HIGH SCHOOL
- Played for coach John Clabo at Doyle High School in Knoxville
- Averaged 45 yards per punt for three years in high school
- The only specialist included in the Knoxville News-Sentinel Top 25 list of in-state prep talent
