- Four-year letterwinner at Dobyns-Bennett serving for one season as the captain of the team
- Also a member of the track team for four years and the basketball team for three seasons
- Helped his team to three-straight Big 8 conference championships from his sophomore year as well as four straight state playoffs appearances during his time in high school
- Racked up 1,238 rushing yards for 29 touchdowns, 350 receiving yards (four TDs), while also making 25 tackles and recording five interceptions as a senior
