Rachel Pfister (pronounced: FIST-ur) joined Tennessee Athletics as Director of Football Nutrition in January of 2018 and was promoted to Director of Sports Nutrition in June of 2019.
In that new role, she oversees UT's entire Sports Nutrition Department and directs its graduate assistant and student volunteer program. Her position allows her to work directly with the football team and high-risk athletes. Additionally, Pfister is responsible for individual and team nutritional education, personal consultations, team meal planning, gameday support and body-composition testing.
When she is not working alongside her student-athletes, she manages the menu and production at Smokey’s Sports Grill in Anderson Training Center.
Â
Pfister attended LSU for her undergraduate education and received her bachelor's degree in 2014. After graduation, she moved back to her hometown of New Orleans and completed a Dietetic Internship in 2016 through Tulane.
Following that internship, she worked at Alabama from 2016-18 as the dietitian for the Crimson Tide's gymnastics and swimming & diving programs and was an assistant to the football team.
She became a licensed Registered Dietitian (RD) in 2017.
