2003 - SENIOR
- "The Iceman" boasted an infectious refuse-to-lose attitude when the Vols ventured away from Rocky Top, as he finished his clutch career with a 14-1 record on the road (most true road wins by a Tennessee quarterback all-time).
- His 34-10 (.773) career record as a starter included the second-most wins among all-time Tennessee quarterbacks; he was 18-5 at Neyland Stadium, 2-4 at neutral sites and 14-1 on the road.
- Finished his career ranked second on Tennessee's all-time total offense chart; his 9,707 total yards trailed only Peyton Manning.
- At the conclusion of his career, Clausen's career totals of 775 completions, 1,270 attempts, 9,577 passing yards and 75 passing touchdowns all ranked second in school history.
- Posted seven career 300-yard passing performances during his time as a Vol.
- In his final game as a Vol, he went 31 for 55 for 384 yards and two touchdowns during Tennessee's loss to Clemson in the Peach Bowl (1/2/04).
- His lone touchdown pass at Kentucky (11/29/03) gave him a career-best 25 regular-season TD throws, including nine over the final three regular-season games in 2003.
- As part of a 48-0 shutout of Vanderbilt (11/22/03), he passed Peyton Manning to set the UT program record for consecutive passes without an interception with 143, spanning five games; Clausen also moved into seventh place on the SEC's all-time passing list and became only the second Tennessee signal caller to surpass the 9,000-yard mark for career passing.
- Delivered a school-record-tying five touchdown passes as part of a 21-for-34, 342-yard performance during Tennessee's 59-21 win over Mississippi State (11/15/03).
- He ascended past South Carolina's Steve Tanneyhill into ninth place on the SEC's all-time passing list during Tennessee's 10-6 win at Miami (Fla.) (11/8/03); his handoff to Derrick Tinsley on a fourth-and-two play from the two-yard line seconds before halftime proved to be the game-winning touchdown.
- With his 208 passing yards in UT's homecoming win over Duke (11/1/03), he most past Kentucky's Tim Couch into 10th place on the SEC's all-time passing list.
- Threw for 283 yards and four touchdowns at Alabama (10/25/03), but his most memorable play from that 51-43 triumph was his diving, game-winning, one-yard touchdown run in game's fifth overtime; he earned his second career SEC Offensive Player of the Week award for that performance—both of his SEC POW honors came after wins in Tuscaloosa.
- His 90-yard TD pass to wide receiver Mark Jones against UGA (11/11/03) was the longest passing play in program history at that time; it also stood as UT's third-longest all-time play (of any kind) from scrimmage.
- Completed 30 of 47 passes for 355 yards and two TDs, but it wasn't enough as he suffered his first—and the only—road loss of his career at Auburn (10/4/03), 28-21.
- Threw a pair of TD passes as part of Tennessee's 23-20 overtime win against South Carolina (9/27/03).
- A 48-yard "Hail Mary" strike to James Banks on the final play of the first half highlighted his 235-yard passing performance during Tennessee's 24-10 road win at 17th-ranked Florida (9/20/03).
- During Tennessee's 34-24 win over Marshall (9/6/03), he logged the longest rushing play of his career on a 16-yard scurry; he added three touchdown tosses as part of a 235-yard passing effort vs. the Thundering Herd.
- Was selected as a team captain for the 2003 campaign, along with Rashad Baker, Kevin Burnett, Michael Munoz, Constantin Ritzmann and Scott Wells.
2002 - JUNIOR
- Started all 11 games in which he appeared, as he was hindered by ankle and shoulder injuries and the Vols finished 8-5.
- After three seasons, he owned a 24-7 record as a starter, a 9-0 record on the road and he had authored six career fourth-quarter comebacks.
- Ascended into second place on Tennessee's all-time passing yardage list, having thrown for 6,739 yards at season's end.
- He also moved into second place on UT's career list for completions, with 519.
- Finished his junior campaign with 2,297 passing yards; he completed 194 of 310 attempts (.626) with 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
- His .626 completion percentage led the SEC and ranked 11th nationally.
- Threw for 243 yards in Tennessee’s Peach Bowl loss to Maryland (12/31/02).
- Led Vols to back-to-back victories at end of regular season against Vanderbilt (11/23/02) and Kentucky (11/30/02).
- He was sidelined for the second half of Tennessee's homecoming loss to top-ranked Miami (Fla.) due to injury (11/9/02).

- Had a season-high 291 passing yards against Arkansas, including a game-winning, 25-yard scoring pass to tight end Jason Witten in the fourth overtime (10/5/02).
- Opened the season with five consecutive 200-yard passing games.
2001 - SOPHOMORE
- Started all 13 games while leading Tennessee to an 11-2 record and helping the Vols ascend to as high as No. 2 in the national polls.
- Cementing his legacy as a clutch performer in hostile stadiums, he rallied the Vols to four fourth-quarter comebacks on the road—at Arkansas (9/8/01), at Alabama 10/20/01), at Kentucky (11/17/01) and at Florida(12/1/01).
- At season's end, two of Tennessee's five all-time five-TD-pass performances were owned by Clausen.
- Finished the regular season with 2,969 passing yards—the third-best single-season total in school history at that time.
- He then threw for a career-high 393 yards during Tennessee's dominant, 45-17 triumph over Michigan in the Florida Citrus Bowl (01/01/02).
- Went 17-for-25 for 168 yards and a touchdown as he helped lead Tennessee to a 34-32 victory at second-ranked Florida (12/1/01)—UT's first win in Gainesville since 1971.
- Earned game MVP honors for his Citrus Bowl effort, which included completing 26 of 34 attempts, three passing TDs and two rushing scores.
- He authored a .641 completion percentage on the year (bowl game stats excluded), connecting on 227 of 354 attempts.
- Just missed surpassing UT's single-season completion percentage record of .642, set by Peyton Manning in 1995 (244-of-380).
- Clausen’s 354 attempts ranked as fourth-most in a season in school history, and his 227 completions stood as the program's fifth-most in a single season.

2000 - FRESHMAN
- Earned recognition from The Sporting News as both a third-team Freshman All-American and a second-team All-SEC performer.
- Went undefeated as Tennessee's starting QB in regular-season games after taking over at midseason against Alabama (10/21/00).
- Finished with 121 completions on 194 attempts (.624) for a Tennessee freshman record 1,473 passing yards, 15 touchdowns and only six interceptions.
- Passed for 120 yards and touchdown in the Cotton Bowl loss to 11th-ranked Kansas State (1/1/01).
- Directed Tennessee's offense to scores on every possession in the first half against Kentucky (11/18/00), five for touchdowns and one for a field goal; on the day, he threw four touchdown passes on plays of 18, 31, 33 and 18 yards.
- Completed 19 of 24 passes, including a string of 13 straight, for a UT freshman record 362 yards through the air in that Kentucky win.
- Completed 16 of 27 passes against Arkansas (11/11/00), including touchdown strikes of two, 20, 12, 16 and 13 yards; his five-touchdown bonanza tied the single-game school record shared by Andy Kelly, Heath Shuler and Peyton Manning.
- Three of his five touchdowns against the Razorbacks came during Tennessee's school-record 35-point first quarter.
- At Memphis (11/4/00), he repeated his fourth-quarter heroics by directing a late drive that ended with a game-winning field goal; he completed 19 of 30 passes for 224 yards against the in-state Tigers.
- Led the Vols downfield on a winning touchdown drive at No. 17 South Carolina (10/28/00), completing 6-of-7 passes—including a third-and-14 connection near midfield to wide receiver Donte’ Stallworth; Clausen finished the South Carolina win 19-of-31 for 152 yards passing.
- His first career start came against Alabama (10/21/00), and he completed 17 of 24 passes for 213 yards and two touchdowns; he first career TD throw came in the opening period when he hit Cedrick Wilson for a 23-yard score.
- Was held out of Tennessee's first two games while battling tendinitis in his (right) throwing arm, so he made his Vol debut against Louisiana-Monroe (9/23/00) and connected with David Martin on a 19-yard touchdown pass on UT's first play.
HIGH SCHOOL
- Graduated from Alemany High School, in Mission Hills, California, where he was coached by Jim Bonds.
- Enrolled at UT in January of 2000, midway through his senior year of high school.
- Compiled 7,871 passing yards and 71 total touchdown passes during his high school career.
- He also ran for 612 yards and 13 touchdowns as a high schooler.
- As a senior in 1999, he threw for 2,805 yards and 31 touchdowns while leading the team to a 9-3 record and a state playoff berth.
