Sean McCann was hired as Tennessee baseball’s video coordinator in October of 2017 after working for Prep Baseball Report in various capacities from 2013-17. McCann brings a wealth of experience to the position and has an impressive record as a talent-evaluator.
From 2013-15, McCann served as the Kansas Scouting Director for Prep Baseball Report, where he initially launched what is now the scouting epicenter of the country with the likes of Riley Pint, Joey Wentz, Nonie Williams and many more high-profile prospects. He became the outlet’s national crosschecker in 2016.
Prior to joining Prep Baseball Report, McCann spent 18 years coaching at various levels of college baseball, including nine years as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Big 12 Conference schools Missouri and Kansas State.
Since joining Tony Vitello's staff at Tennessee, McCann has built the program's video, scouting and analytics department from scratch. McCann created a new video room for coaches and players to utilize for scouting and analytics purposes. The Vols' video room features some of the latest and greatest equipment for scouting and analytics, which has helped UT players take their games to new levels.
