First and foremost, thank you for your continued support of Tennessee Athletics. On behalf of our entire athletics department, our coaches, staff and student-athletes: Thank you!

As a Booster/Fan of Tennessee Athletics, it is essential that you are aware of NCAA “extra benefit” regulations, which – if violated – may jeopardize a student-athlete’s eligibility and subject our institution to NCAA penalties.

Student-athletes are prohibited from receiving “extra benefits” from individuals who have come to know them as a result of their achieved status, reputation or participation as an athlete. Specifically, a discounted or special purchase, rate, payment arrangement or credit should not be provided to a prospective or enrolled student-athlete (or their family members) unless it is unrelated to athletics (i.e., non-athletically-related group discount) and advertised to the general student body or public. If a student-athlete or his/her family accepts any benefits or special consideration/discount, he/she may be declared ineligible and suspended from competition.

It is also important that you are aware of NCAA rules surrounding the use of a student-athlete’s name, image or likeness. Student-athletes may only be involved in promotional activities for the University of Tennessee or a recognized entity thereof (e.g., fraternity, sorority or student government organization), the SEC or NCAA, or a non-institutional charitable, educational or non-profit agency. It is not permissible for a student-athlete’s name, image or likeness to be utilized in any promotional activities on behalf of a commercial entity. Therefore, we respectfully ask that you refrain from use of our student-athletes for commercial purposes (e.g., ads, website testimonials, social media posts, etc.).

Compliance with NCAA regulations is a shared responsibility and your help in this regard is essential to ensuring the continued growth and success of Tennessee Athletics.
