Kuhns & Mack Tabbed to College Baseball Foundation National Pitcher of the Year Watch List
March 11, 2026 | Baseball
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Tennessee's Tegan Kuhns and Landon Mack were both named to the 2026 National Pitcher of the Year Watch List, the College Baseball Foundation announced on Wednesday.
The National Pitcher of the Year Award has been presented annually since 2009 to the country's top Division I hurler. UT's Liam Doyle was a semifinalist for last year's award.
Both Kuhns and Mack have gotten off to great starts this season, forming a formidable one-two punch at the front end of the Vols' weekend rotation.
Kuhns has started all four of UT's Friday games and boasts a team-best 0.90 WHIP to go along with a 3.09 ERA and 29 strikeouts with just four walks over 23.1 innings of work. The sophomore right-hander is also holding opposing hitters to a .198 batting average.
Mack has been a lightning rod for the Vols on Saturdays thanks to his energetic demeanor on the mound. The Rutgers transfer leads all qualified pitchers on the team with a 2.38 ERA and has also racked up a team-high three victories so far this season. Mack ranks second on the squad with 30 strikeouts over 22.2 innings pitched, as well.
