Preview: UT Hosts Tennessee Diving Invitational to Begin 2026

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee diving begins the 2026 calendar year by hosting the Tennessee Diving Invitational Jan. 7-9.
The Vols and Lady Vols welcome Alabama, Florida, LSU, NC State, and SMU during the three day meet. Prelims for the first two days will begin at 11 a.m., with finals beginning at 4 p.m. Friday's platform competition will also begin at 11 a.m. to close out the week of competition. The meet will be streamed on SEC Network+, with live results available on Dive Meets.
The women's 1-meter and men's 3-meter get the week started on Wednesday. Thursday's slate features the men's 1-meter competition, and the women's 3-meter event.
Tennessee was last in action at the USA Diving Winter Nationals in Midland, Texas. It was a successful stint at the event, as a pair of divers had medal performances. Bennett Greene took the gold in the men's 1-meter event, finishing with a score of 754.30. Greene became the first Tennessee diver to win gold at the Winter Nationals since Colin Zeng claimed gold in the platform in 2017.
Emma Rhines earned the bronze medal in the women's 1-meter competition, with the freshman putting up a score of 476.25. Desharne Bent-Ashmeil had the third-highest score in the 1-meter, finishing with a 513.60. Bent-Ashmeil also had the seventh-best score in the women's 3-meter final of 506.10.
