Lady Vol Signee Prawl Chosen For Nike Hoop Summit
March 11, 2025 | Women's Basketball
Nike Basketball announced the World Select women's roster for the 2025 Nike Hoop Summit, and Tennessee Lady Vol signee Deniya Prawl has been chosen to participate in the event.
The world's top talent will join forces to face USA teams, which include several members who won gold medals last summer at the FIBA U17 World Cup and FIBA U18 AmeriCup and represent the high school graduating classes of 2025. The World team features elite talent with players ages 19 and younger across six continents.Â
The event will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon, and will be televised live on USA Network and streamed on Peacock, beginning with the women's game at 7:30 p.m. ET. Tickets are on sale now by clicking here.
Prawl, a native of Toronto, Canada, plays high school basketball for IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, and was named a 2025 McDonald's All-American. One of the top-rated players in the prep class of 2025, she is ranked No. 6 by 247Sports, No. 8 by World Exposure Report, No. 10 by ProspectsNation.com and On3, and No. 14 by ESPN.Â
This won't be Prawl's first time competing in an international event. She played on the Canadian 2024 FIBA U17 World Cup team, averaging 11.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.4 blocks in 27.2 minutes over seven games. She was a significant contributor as her nation took silver in that event, as she tallied 13 points, seven rebounds and three blocks in the gold medal game vs. United States.
Prawl also played on the 2022 FIBA U17 World Cup team for Canada, contributing 5.2 rebounds, 2.8 points and 1.8 assists to that squad's fourth-place finish as one of its younger members.
The Nike Hoop Summit has been held annually since 1995, except for 2001-03 and 2020-21, and it has been in Portland since 2008. More information can be found here.
