October 22, 2025 | Football
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Former Tennessee standouts continued to make their mark across the NFL in Week 7, highlighted by another dominant performance from Los Angeles Rams edge rusher Byron Young, who remains among the league's most disruptive defenders. Young tallied 1.5 sacks, two tackles and two quarterback hits in a 35-7 win over Jacksonville. The third-year pro now has nine sacks on the season, tied for the NFL lead, and ranks second with 17 QB hits.
On the offensive side, Cade Mays anchored the Carolina Panthers' line in their 13-6 win over the New York Jets, starting at center and playing all 71 offensive snaps. Fellow Vol Jauan Jennings provided a spark for San Francisco, hauling in four receptions for 31 yards as the 49ers topped Atlanta, 20-10.
Defensively, Alontae Taylor of the New Orleans Saints was active in the secondary, recording seven tackles and one tackle for loss against Chicago. Jaylen McCollough also shined for the Los Angeles Rams with four tackles and a pass breakup in the win over Jacksonville.
