BILOXI, Miss. - Tennessee men's golfers Jackson Herrington and Lance Simpson are tied for 15th after 18 holes at the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational at Fallen Oak Golf Course.

The duo led the Vols in round one with a pair of 2-under 70s.

As a team, UT shot 1-under and is in eighth place ahead of moving day.

Freshman Luke Smith, who is making his lineup debut for the Big Orange, is tied for 28th after carding an even-par 72. Smith was 1-over at the turn and then went 1-under on the back nine to secure the 72.

Smith's fellow freshman, Chase Kyes, is competing individually this weekend. Kyes posted a 1-over 73 on Saturday and is currently tied for 42nd.

Reed Lotter gave Tennessee its final counting score of the day after carding a 75 and the final member of the UT lineup, Josh Hill, posted a 76.
