Â
Curley is expected to be one of the Vols' top players as he enters his sophomore year following a prolific debut season that saw him earn Freshman All-SEC honors as well as Freshman All-America recognition from multiple outlets. The California native participated with the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team over the summer after batting .285 with 51 runs scored, 10 doubles, 12 home runs, 50 RBIs and nine stolen bases during his impressive freshman season in which he became the team's starting shortstop. Curley was also named to the 2024 Men's College World Series All-Tournament team after helping lead Tennessee to its first national championship in program history.
Â
Doyle enters his first season on Rocky Top after appearing in 16 games on the mound for Ole Miss as a sophomore in 2024, including 11 starts. The hard-throwing left hander led the Rebels with 84 strikeouts and held opposing hitters to a .230 batting average on the year. Doyle is expected to have a major role on Tennessee's pitching staff this season, likely as a part of the Vols' weekend rotation.
Â
Fischer also joins the Tennessee program after a productive sophomore season at Ole Miss, where he earned second team All-SEC honors after leading the team in hits (59), home runs (20), RBIs (57) and total bases (133). The New Jersey native became just the fourth player in Ole Miss history to hit 20-plus homers in a season and started all 55 games he appeared in for the Rebels, including 43 starts at third base, where he is projected to play for the Vols this season after an impressive fall for the Big Orange.
Â
Kilen posted a breakout sophomore season at Louisville in 2024, earning third team All-ACC recognition as the team's starting shortstop. The Wisconsin native led the Cardinals with 71 hits, 23 doubles and 127 total bases a year ago while also hitting nine home runs and finishing with 41 RBIs. Kilen brings plenty of power conference experience after appearing in 100 games and making 92 starts during his two years at Louisville. He is expected to make an immediate impact for the Vols as a starter in the middle infield this season.
Â
Russell will look to rebound from an injury-plagued sophomore season in which he made just six appearances (four starts) for the Vols. After having offseason surgery, the junior right hander is expected to be back towards the middle of the season and could prove to be a major addition to Tennessee's pitching staff. Russell was a Freshman All-American and earned third-team NCWA All-America honors in 2023 after an impressive debut season in which he posted a 0.89 ERA and had 47 strikeouts over 30.1 innings pitched.
Â
An ABCA All-Southeast Region first team selection as a sophomore, Snead emerged as UT's go-to arm out of the bullpen in 2024, ranking second on the team with 29 appearances while leading all non-starting pitchers with 75.1 innings pitched. The hard-throwing right hander posted a 10-2 record and a 3.11 ERA while also finishing tied for the team lead with six saves on the year. Snead appeared in five of the Vols' six games in Omaha, helping lead the Big Orange to their first MCWS title. The Wisconsin native played for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team over the summer, as well.
