KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The No. 13 Tennessee men's tennis team is set to begin their spring campaign with a doubleheader against Tennessee Tech (10 a.m. ET) and Belmont (3 p.m. ET) on Monday at Goodfriend Tennis Center.
The Big Orange enjoyed a steady balance of continued success and newfound accomplishments during the previous season. For the third time in the past four years, the Vols eclipsed the 25-win mark and reached the NCAA Quarterfinals while achieving a perfect 18-0 record at home for the first time in program history.
Live stats for the match can be found here. Admission is free to fans, and tennis parking will be available on West Volunteer Boulevard and at the top of the CI7/NC7 garage located next to Barksdale Stadium.
SCOUTING TENNESSEE TECH
The season-opener will mark the second year in a row in which the Vols will face off against the Golden Eagles during the opening weekend of the spring slate. Last season, UT took down Tennessee Tech 7-0 to extend their unbeaten record against the in-state foe.
SCOUTING BELMONT
Last season, Belmont posted an 11-10 overall record and reached the final round of the Horizon League Tournament. Monday's meeting with Belmont will mark the fourth time these two programs have faced off, with their first meeting dating back to 2013. The Vols lead the overall series 3-0, with their last victory coming in 2023 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. This match will represent a homecoming for newcomer Ian Cruz, as he saw action for the Bruins on the court for the previous three seasons.
