Plavšić Makes Olympic Debut as Serbia Defeats Puerto Rico, 107-66

VILLENEUVE-D'ASCQ, France – Uroš Plavšić, a former University of Tennessee men's basketball player, earned his first Olympic action Wednesday night at Pierre Mauroy Stadium.
The 7-foot-1, 265-pound center received two-plus minutes of court time for Serbia in his native country's 107-66 victory over Puerto Rico in the second game of group play.
Plavšić scored two points and grabbed three rebounds, the latter mark tied for fourth-most on the team. He finished plus-five during his court time and was one of four Serbian players to grab multiple offensive rebounds.
After falling to the United States, 110-884, Saturday in its opening game, Serbia is now 1-1 in the Paris 2024 Olympics. It completes Group C play Saturday at 3 p.m. ET against South Sudan with a spot in the elimination round on the line.
Plavšić is one of a school-record 32 representatives from Tennessee at the Paris 2024 Olympics, including three in the sport of basketball.
He played in 101 games, with 45 starts, for the Volunteers from 2019-23. Plavšić averaged 4.9 points and 3.4 rebounds per game during his senior campaign in 2022-23, helping Tennessee to a 25-11 record and a Sweet 16 appearance.
