Four Lady Vol Rowers, Two Women’s Golfers Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The College Sports Communicators announced this week that four members of the Tennessee rowing team and two Tennessee women's golfers were named to the 2024 CSC Academic All-District Team, as part of its at-large division.
Tennessee rowers Gracie Condon, Riley Ferdelman, Megan Hewison and Sasha Radovanovic (coxswain) were recognized for their efforts on the water and in the classroom.
For the second consecutive year, Tennessee women's golfers Kayla Holden and Vanessa Gilly were recognized for their accomplishments in the classroom and on the golf course.
The minimum criteria for at-large program sports include rowers having attained at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and competed in 90 percent of the team's total regatta's. For golf, those student-athletes Golf nominees also must have achieved at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, along with participating in 70 percent of the team's total varsity events that were team scoring events.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced July 16 (women) and July 17 (men).
Holden, a Lady Vol golf senior this past season, registered four top-10 finishes while also posting a 72.71 season stroke average. The Port St. Lucie, Florida, native was UT's highest finisher in four of its tournaments. Holden's best finish of the season and her career came after a fifth-place showing at the Ruth's Chris Tarheel Invitational. In addition to her accomplishments on the course, Holden was awarded the Plotnicki Award for Professional Promise by Tennessee's sport management department and named to the SEC All-Community Service Team.
Gilly, who was also a senior on the Tennessee women's golf team during the 2023-24 campaign, notched three top-10 finishes along with a 73.21 scoring average. Gilly's best showing of the season came on the heels of a fourth-place finish at the Mary Fossum Invitational. The Caracas, Venezuela, native departs Rocky Top with a bachelor's degree in finance.
Condon, a senior for the Lady Vol rowing team in 2023-24, posted a 42-6 overall boat record in the First Varsity Eight crew this season, competing primarily in the 2V8+ boat. In that boat, Condon aided Tennessee to a third-place finish in the 2V8+ NCAA Championships Grand Final, as UT placed third with a final time of 6:22.830. The result marked the best-ever NCAA Championship finish for a Tennessee 2V8+ crew. Condon was named a CRCA National Scholar-Athlete for the third consecutive year in 2024.
Junior Ferdelman recorded an impressive 45-4 overall boat record this season, mainly racing in Tennessee's 1V8+ boat. At the NCAA Championships Grand Final, she helped UT post a gutsy performance that resulted in a third-place national finish for the Lady Vols' 1V8+ boat. The Lady Vols crossed the line just 2.236 seconds behind first-place, top-ranked Texas (6:09.920). Furthermore, a mere .352 seconds separated Tennessee from second-place, No. 2 Stanford (6:11.804). Ferdelman was also named a 2024 CRCA National Scholar-Athlete for her work in the classroom.

Hewison's efforts in the classroom were rewarded with being honored as a CRCA National Scholar-Athlete in 2024.
Radovanovic, a graduate coxswain for the Lady Vols in 2023-24, competed solely in the 1V8+ boat this year, logging a stellar record of 44-4 with that crew. A 2024 CRCA First Team All-American and All-Big 12 team member, Radovanovic used her experience to help propel the Tennessee 1V8+ to its best-ever finish at the NCAA Championships, as the boat place third. She was also named a 2024 CRCA National Scholar-Athlete.
