April 11, 2024 | Women's Golf
BELLEAIR, Fla. – Tennessee women's golf will commence its postseason play in Belleair, Florida, competing in the SEC Championship from April 12-16.
Hosted for the first time at Pelican Golf Club, the tournament will feature three rounds of stroke play from Friday to Sunday, followed by match play in the quarterfinals and semifinals on Monday and in the final round on Tuesday. Following 54 holes of stroke play competition, the top eight teams will advance to the quarterfinals.
The Lady Vols enter postseason play with 84 regular season wins, representing their most since 2011-12. The current winning percentage (.613) is the team's highest since 2014-15 (.816).
LADY VOLS LINEUP
The Port St. Lucie, Florida, native returns to the Sunshine State for the second time this season. She tied for seventh place at the Sun Coast Invitational in Sarasota in February and leads the team in round average (72.43) for the spring season.
Chotikabhukkana got back on track in the month of March, finishing 15th and 10th at the MountainView Collegiate and Clemson Invitational, respectively. Her three rounds of par or better at Clemson gave her 17 for the season, tied with Anna Newell (2015-16) for the most in a single season in program history.
The junior Davis posted two par rounds at the Clemson Invitational, netting her nine on the season with the opportunity to be the fourth Lady Vol to reach double figures this season (Holden, Chotikabhukkana and Vanessa Gilly). Her career figure of 22 par rounds is tied for 15th all-time with Blakesly Warren and Jessica Shepley.
At last year's SEC Championship, Arora placed 43rd as a freshman in just her fifth collegiate tournament. The sophomore has recorded two rounds in the 60s this season at the Sun Coast Invitational and Clemson Invitational.
A strong candidate for the All-SEC Freshman team, Lopez-Lanchares has two top-30 finishes this spring, including an 11th-place outing at the MountainView Collegiate. Her 73.26 round average ranks fourth on the team.
