Striplin, Puckett Named To CSC Academic All-District Team

Karoline Striplin and Sara Puckett, two key contributors for the Tennessee Lady Vols, have been named to the 2023-24 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team, the organization has announced.

Recognizing the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom, the CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's basketball honorees in four divisions: NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Striplin, a junior forward from Hartford, Ala., is majoring in journalism and electronic media and owns a 3.88 cumulative grade point average. She is a repeat honoree on the CSC All-District squad, is a soon-to-be three-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll and a 2023-24 graduate of the VOLeaders Academy at UT.

On the court, Striplin played all 33 games and started 11 during the 2023-24 campaign. She produced 7.2 points and 3.1 rebounds per contests, hitting 49.1 percent from the field, 31 percent on threes and 76.2 percent from the free-throw line. Striplin finished second in field goal percentage and blocked shots (14) on the team and was one of six Lady Vols hitting double digits in three-pointers (18). She scored in double digits a career-high eight times, including a best effort of 29 vs. Middle Tennessee on Dec. 6.

Puckett, a junior forward from Muscle Shoals, Ala., is majoring in kinesiology and has a 3.63 GPA. She also is a soon-to-be three-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll and a 2021-22 graduate of the VOLeaders Academy.

Starting all 33 games, Puckett averaged 9.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest while shooting 44.7 percent from the field, 35.2 percent on threes and 86.3 percent on free throws. Her accuracy at the charity stripe was the 10th-best single-season effort in UT history. She also finished as Tennessee's third-leading scorer and second-leading rebounder, and was second in steals (20), third in three-pointers made (38) and fifth in assists (49). She scored in double figures a career-best 16 times in 2023-24, tallying a career-high 24 vs. Memphis on Nov. 13.
