Granberry, Kerr to Attend USAV WNT Open Program

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – For the third consecutive year, Tennessee volleyball is sending several student-athletes to the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, this weekend as they take part in the Women's National Team Open Program (WNTOP).

Keondreya Granberry and Caroline Kerr are set to join more than 200 women's volleyball players from around the country for the Open Program. For both Lady Vols, it is their second trip to the WNTOP after going last year as well. The three-day event includes skill-specific drills and activities as well as match play throughout the weekend.

The WNT Open Program, which runs February 23-25, is used for consideration for selection to both the U.S. Women's National Team and the U.S. Women's Collegiate National Team. In 2024, members of the U.S. Women's National Team will compete in the following events: Volleyball Nations League, NORCECA Final Six, Pan American Cup and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The 2024 U.S. Women's Collegiate National Team (WCNT) will train in Anaheim, Calif., alongside U.S. Women's National Team athletes and staff. This program is used to consider athletes for selection to the Women's National Team and related events. Dates for the WCNT training block will be announced soon.

Tennessee volleyball has deep ties with USA volleyball, as current graduate assistant Andrew Strick worked with the men's national team during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Associate head coach Tyler Adams has also spent time working and coaching men and women within USA volleyball in several different roles.

One of the best setters in the nation last year, Kerr finished with 1,245 assists, 210 digs, 70 kills, 40 blocks and 33 aces during her first season of competition en route to earning AVCA Second Team All-American honors. She ranked third nationally, second in the SEC and led all NCAA freshmen in assists per set at 11.75, recording 14 40-assist efforts and five 50-assist performances on the year.

The Champaign, Ill., native earned AVCA All-Region honors and was tabbed to the All-SEC and SEC All-Freshman teams. Kerr received 11 SEC weekly honors on the year, including seven SEC Freshman of the Week and two SEC Player and Setter of the Week awards each. For the season, her 11.75 assists per set marked the second most in a single season during the 25-point rally-scoring era in Tennessee history, while her total assists ranked third.

After being tabbed to the All-SEC Freshman Team in 2022, Granberry was once again a force in the middle for the Lady Vols, reaching triple-digit blocks for the second year in a row. She finished with 162 kills on .356 hitting and 108 blocks, which was more than she had as a freshman despite playing 20 less sets.

For the year, Granberry averaged 1.72 kills and 1.15 blocks per set and ranked second in the SEC in hitting percentage and eighth in blocks per set. She eclipsed five blocks in a match 12 times on the year as the team leader in the stat.

So far during her career, Granberry has tallied 311 kills on .344 hitting and 211 blocks. She will enter her junior season as one of the top middle blockers in the SEC and is primed for a breakout year with the Lady Vols in 2024.
