Jones’ Debut Kicks Off 2024-25 Indoor Track Season

BOSTON — Tennessee graduate student Aaron Jones made his Volunteer debut on the track Saturday night at Boston University, competing in the men's 5,000-meter at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener.
The distance runner from Johnson City finished 19th in his heat with a time of 14:31.23, placing 167th in a field of more than 200 athletes at the early bird competition.
The Tennessee track & field program will return to action after the holiday break, ramping up with a pair of competitions during the second weekend of January. The McFerrin 12 Degree Invitational at Texas A&M will take place Friday, Jan. 10, followed by the Clemson Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 11.
