Tennessee Soccer Set to Open NCAA Tournament at #7 Seed Virginia Tech

For the fourth straight season, Tennessee has made the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Tournament field.
The Lady Vols (9-6-4) earned an at-large bid and will open the tournament in Blacksburg, Virginia, against seventh-seeded Virginia Tech. Kickoff will take place Friday at 7 p.m. ET.Â
The 64-team NCAA Tournament bracket is broken down into four quadrants, with seeds 1-8 in each quadrant hosting first-round games.
The Lady Vols and the Hokies have never faced off in the NCAA Tournament and the series is tied 1-1-1 in all-time matchups.
Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. ET Tuesday, starting at $10.
TOURNAMENT TIME: All 32 first-round games will be held over three days this weekend, beginning a four-week march to the national title match. The Women's College Cup will be held Dec. 6 and Dec. 9 at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.

UT has a 17-13-3 record in the tournament and has reached the Round of 16 seven times (2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2018, 2021). Tennessee is 10-4-1 in NCAA First Round matches. Danielle Marcano is Tennessee's all-time points leader in the NCAA championships, tallying 14 points on seven goals during her career (2015-2018).Â
