Mashack Voted Chair of SEC Men’s Basketball Leadership Council

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Jahmai Mashack of the University of Tennessee will serve as the chair of the 2024-25 SEC Men's Basketball Leadership Council.
This will be Mashack's third year as the Volunteers' representative in the group. After holding the vice chair position in 2023-24, his peers voted him as the chair this year.
Each school has one student-athlete on the committee. Mashack is joined in 2024-25 by Houston Mallette (Alabama), Lawson Blake (Arkansas), Corey Williams (Auburn), Micah Handlogten (Florida), R.J. Godfrey (Georgia), Grant Darbyshire (Kentucky), Trace Young (LSU), Robert Cowherd (Ole Miss), Cameron Matthews (Mississippi State), Tamar Bates (Missouri), Jacolb Cole (Oklahoma), Jordan Butler (South Carolina), Kadin Shedrick (Texas), Jace Carter (Texas A&M) and Coleson Messer (Vanderbilt).
In addition, Mashack is the SEC's representative on the NCAA Men's Basketball Oversight Committee (MBOC) Student-Athlete Engagement Group for the second consecutive year.
A senior guard from Fontana, Calif., Mashack took part in UT's VOLeaders program as a sophomore and went to the Philippines for a service and cultural immersion trip in the summer of 2023.
Mashack has appeared in 99 games over his first three seasons in Knoxville, earning 21 starts. Last year, he averaged 4.5 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game while playing in all 36 contests for the second year in a row.
