Vols in the Pros Update: Jan. 8

As the 2023-24 NBA season is in full swing, seven VFLs have seen action in the league this year, including one additional VFL competing in the NBA G League. A breakdown of Vols in the pros, including those in the EuroLeague and beyond, can be found below.

VOLS IN THE NBA

Tobias Harris | Philadelphia 76ers | at Tennessee 2010-11
In his 13th NBA campaign and fifth full season with the Philadelphia 76ers, Tobias Harris is averaging 16.9 PPG, 6.1 RPG and 3.1 APG this season. In Philadelphia's most recent win, a 110-97 triumph over the Chicago Bulls on Jan. 2, Harris logged 20 points on 9-13 shooting, eight rebounds, two blocks and a pair of assists. His plus-minus rating of +32 was tied for the team high in the win.

Josh Richardson | Miami Heat | at Tennessee 2011-15
In ninth professional season, Josh Richardson is in his second stint with the Miami Heat, as he also played in South Florida for the first four years of his NBA career (2015-19). Richardson has scored in double figures in four of his last five outings, averaging 10.0 PPG, 3.0 APG and 2.8 RPG on the year. In Miami's latest action, he neared a triple-double, scoring 10 points to go along with eight rebounds, seven assists and two steals at Phoenix.

Grant Williams | Dallas Mavericks | at Tennessee 2016-19
Grant Williams, in his fifth NBA season and first with the Dallas Mavericks after spending his first four professional seasons with the Boston Celtics, is averaging 8.6 PPG, 3.7 RPG and 1.6 APG this season. Making 33 appearances for the Mavericks thus far, Williams has started in 27 of those contests. In Dallas' most recent action, a home win over the Minnesota Timberwolves—currently atop the Western Conference standings—Williams logged nine points on 3-of-5 shooting, two rebounds and a pair of blocks.

Julian Phillips | Chicago Bulls | at Tennessee 2022-23
Julian Phillips, a rookie for the Chicago Bulls after spending is lone collegiate season on Rocky Top, scored seven points on 3-of-5 shooting to go along with three blocks to open the 2024 calendar year against the 76ers. Phillips has appeared in 21 games this season for Chicago, connecting on eight shot attempts.

Admiral Schofield | Orlando Magic | at Tennessee 2015-19
Admiral Schofield is currently on a two-way contract with the NBA's Orlando Magic, for whom he has scored 12 points in 44 total minutes of action this year.

Keon Johnson | Brooklyn Nets | at Tennessee 2020-21
Keon Johnson is playing on a two-way contract for the Brooklyn Nets organization this season, his third year as a pro. In Johnson's lone appearance for Brooklyn this year, he logged 12 points on 2-of-4 shooting from 3-point range, along with one each in the rebound, assist, block and steal categories. In 15 games with Brooklyn's G League team this season, the Long Island Nets, Johnson is averaging 16.7 PPG on 45.8 percent shooting, 4.3 RPG, 3.6 APG and 1.1 SPG.

Jaden Springer | Philadelphia 76ers | at Tennessee 2020-21
Jaden Springer is averaging 3.1 PPG, 1.4 RPG and 1.0 APG for the 76ers this season. During group play of the league's first-ever in-season tournament, Springer scored at least eight points, 27 in all, in three consecutive games (vs. Boston, at Atlanta, at Brooklyn). During this span, he shot 10-for-18 (55.6 percent) from the field. In just one game for Philadelphia's G League team, the Delaware Blue Coats, this season, Springer tallied 19 points, four rebounds and a pair of assists.

VOLS OVERSEAS

Kyle Alexander | Israel | at Tennessee 2015-19
Kyle Alexander recently led his Israeli team, Hapoel Shlomo Tel-Aviv, to a victory over the eighth-ranked BC Wolves Vilnius, 89-80, in the EuroCup and was named the game's MVP. Alexander posted a double-double, scoring 22 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. He also added three blocks in 30 minutes of action. Hapoel Shlomo Tel-Aviv is currently second in the EuroCup standings. Alexander, in his first season with the team, is averaging 11.2 PPG, 8.4 RPG, 1.1 APG and 1.7 BPG in 12 games.

Kevin Punter Jr. | Serbia | at Tennessee 2014-16
Kevin Punter Jr., was the main contributor in KK Partizan Mozzart Bet Beograd's 90-77 victory against ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket in the EuroLeague last week. He was named MVP of the game, scoring 22 points and adding three assists. Punter is averaging 14.6 PPG, 2.4 RPG, 2.4 APG and 1.6 SPG this season.

Jordan McRae | Greece | at Tennessee 2010-14
Jordan McRae highlighted AEK Athens' 90-75 victory against the tenth-ranked Lavrio in the Greek GBL Saturday night. He scored 13 points, had six rebounds and dished out three assists in 26 minutes of play. AEK Athens is placed sixth in the GBL. In McRae's first season with the team, he is averaging 12.2 PPG, 3.3 RPG and 2.0 APG in 11 games.

Trae Golden | China | at Tennessee 2010-13
Trae Golden posted an impressive double-double consisting of 33 points, 15 assists and five rebounds, connecting on 11-23 shots from the field, including a 4-9 mark from 3-point range, in the final game of the 2023 calendar year for the Sichuan Blue Whales. This year, Golden is averaging 32.3 PPG, 4.5 RPG and 7.5 APG.

Uros Plavsic | Serbia | at Tennessee 2019-23
Uros Plavsic aided Mega BG to a 97-86 win over the second-ranked Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana in the ABA League on Dec. 31. He scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds in 26 minutes of action. Plavsic is averaging 14.6 PPG, 8.2 RPG and 1.2 APG in 13 appearances this season.

Yves Pons | Spain | at Tennessee 2017-21
Yves Pons is averaging 8.6 PPG and 5.0 RPG in 16 games this year for the for Basquet Girona in the Spanish Liga Endesa. His season-high point total of 22 came on Dec. 9 against Manresa. He shot 9-of-12 from the floor in that game, 3-of-5 from beyond the arc, adding eight rebounds and three steals.
