BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After helping Tennessee sweep Missouri and No. 22 Kentucky to start league play 2-0, Emily Beeker, Morgahn Fingall and Caroline Kerr earned SEC weekly honors, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.
Â
For the second time this season, Fingall was named the SEC Player and Offensive Player of the Week, while Kerr garnered her fourth straight honor by being tabbed SEC Freshman of the Week for the third time this season. Beeker received the first conference award of her career, being recognized as the SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week.
Â
In total, the Lady Vols have won three SEC Player of the Week honors, three Freshman of the Week awards, two Offensive Player of the Week recognitions, one Defensive Player of the Week honor and one Setter of the Week award this season.
Â
Fingall, a graduate student right side from Fairfax, Va., led the Lady Vols to a 2-0 start to league play, averaging 5.92 points, 4.50 kills, 2.00 digs, 1.17 blocks and 0.83 aces per set. For the week, she paced the SEC in points per set and aces per set, while ranking third in kills per set and seventh in hitting percentage (.351).
Â
Her top outing of the week came against the Wildcats on Sunday, as Fingall recorded 17 kills while hitting .361, 10 digs, four blocks and one ace. It was her second double-double of the season. With Fingall spearheading the attack, the Lady Vols bested Kentucky for the first time since 2016 and won in Lexington for the first time since 2010. Fingall opened the week with a solid performance against Missouri at home, posting 10 kills, four aces, three blocks and two digs.
Â
On the year, Fingall ranks fourth in the SEC in kills per set (4.08) and points per set (4.86) and is 33rd and 26th nationally in those categories, respectively.
Â

For the week, she averaged 2.50 points, 1.83 blocks and 1.33 kills per set while hitting .400. Beeker's 1.83 blocks per set ranked second in the conference for the week, as Tennessee combined for 22 blocks in the two matches to stifle opposing attacks.
Â
Her top performance of the week came against the Wildcats, as she posted a career-best six blocks and added three kills. During the match, UT was without its top middle blocker, making the play of Beeker even more impressive with it coming on the road in Rupp Arena. Against the Tigers, she posted five blocks and five kills while hitting .600.
Â
Kerr, a redshirt-freshman setter from Champaign, Ill., followed up earning SEC Player of the Week honors last Monday by posting 66 assists, 10 digs, four aces, four blocks and four kills in six sets against SEC foes. Against Kentucky, she helped pace the Big Orange attack with 44 assists—an average of 14.67 per set. Against Missouri, she enjoyed an all-around performance with 22 assists, five digs, four aces, three blocks and three kills.
Â
For the season, Kerr ranks fifth nationally and leads the SEC in assists per set with 11.25. She's also second in the league in service aces per set (0.50) and is 41st in the country.
