Vols Wrap Up Day One of Wake Forest Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Five members of Tennessee's men's tennis team competed in the first day of the Wake Forest Invitational, hosted at Wake Forest Tennis Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

In singles action, Tennessee picked up four victories as #121 graduate Angel Diaz took down Columbia's Hugo Hashimoto 6-4, 6-1.

Donning the orange and white for the first time in their collegiate careers, junior Chris Li notched a win against Columbia's Sachin Palta 6-3, 6-2 while freshman Filip Pieczonka defeated Roko Horvat in 7-5, 6-2 fashion. Freshman James Newton took down Wake Forest's Emmett Potter in a hard-fought three-setter, 7-6(8), 2-6, 10-7.
