MVP Burdick Leads USA To Another FIBA 3x3 Women's Series Title

LVFL Cierra Burdick earned MVP honors for the second time this summer, as her USA squad claimed the title at the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series stop in Katowice, Poland, on Tuesday.
The USA split games in Group D play on Monday, defeating Ukraine, 18-8, and falling to Spain in overtime, 17-16, before entering Tuesday's bracket competition. The Americans would reel off three straight wins on Tuesday to claim their second victory of the 2023 series. The previous one came in the Pristina, Kosovo, stop over July 14-15, with Burdick also winning MVP acclaim in that event.

USA began the second day in Katowice with a 13-9 victory over Italy, followed by an 18-14 decision over Gyor in the semifinals. In the championship showdown, the Americans dispatched Lithuania, 20-17, to claim the trophy. Burdick finished with five points and added team highs with six rebounds and two key assists for the champs.

Burdick finished second among all competitors in top player value for the tourney with a 32.4 rating and pulled down the most rebounds in the event with 37. The Tennessee standout from 2011-15 finished with 22 points over five games, ranking eighth out of 48 participants.
