Rowing Lands Program-Record Three Lady Vols on CSC Academic All-District Team

Honor the nation's top student-athletes for their performances in competition as well as the classroom, three Lady Vols were named to the 2022-23 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, marking the most selections in a single year in program history, the organization announced Tuesday.

Nominated in the At-Large category with various sports, Riley Ferdelman, Natalia Loram and Lucy Marret all garnered the recognition for the first time in their careers. By being selected, all three rowers advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 22.

A sophomore Marketing major with a 3.88 GPA, Ferdelman rowed with the 2V8 boat that posted an impressive 36-6 record on the year. The group won a silver medal at the Big 12 Championship in the 2V8 race and recorded 14 victories against opponents ranked or receiving votes. The crew won Big 12 Boat of the Week honors twice during the season. As a freshman last year, she earned a spot on the SEC Academic First-Year Honor Roll.

Majoring in Political Science and minoring in Public Health as well as Russian Studies, Loram owns a 3.98 GPA while competing in the top boat for the Lady Vols. With the 1V8 crew, the junior won bronze at the Big 12 Championship and notched a 22-19 effort for the season. Throughout her career, she's received Big 12 Boat of the Week honors four times. In the classroom, she's been named a CRCA National Scholar-Athlete, Big 12 Academic All-Conference First Team honoree and two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll selection.

Boasting a 3.98 GPA in Political Science while minoring in Business Administration and Global Studies, Marret was a member of the 1V4 boat that won silver at the Big 12 Championship for the program's best finish ever at the regatta. The crew compiled a 27-13 record for the season. During her academic career, the senior earned Big 12 Academic All-Conference First Team honors in 2021 and 2022 and has twice been named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll. In 2021-22, she was a member of the VOLeaders Academy.
