Linebacker Keenan Pili Returning For 2024 Season

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee senior linebacker Keenan Pili will return for a seventh collegiate season as his NCAA extension of eligibility waiver was granted on Friday.
Pili, a native of Las Vegas, Nevada, solidified a starting role for the Vols through his leadership and performance last spring and summer before suffering an upper-body injury in the season-opener against Virginia. He missed the final 11 games of the regular season.
In six seasons, Pili has collected 194 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, three sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He finished with four tackles in his lone contest this season.
Pili began his career at BYU in 2016 and served a mission for two years before returning to the field in 2019. He was a two-time team captain for the Cougars, seeing action in 36 games with 24 starts at middle linebacker. He finished the 2022 campaign second on the team in tackles with 62 in 12 starts.
Pili earned his degree in exercise science from BYU in December 2022.Â
