Vols Narrowing in on Final Days of Cheez-It Citrus Bowl Preparation
December 30, 2023 | Football
ORLANDO – The Tennessee football team continued bowl festivities on Saturday, starting the day at the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl Day for Kids event hosted at Fun Spot America before another productive day of practice as the No. 21 Vols prepare to face No. 17 Iowa at 1 p.m. on Jan. 1 at Camping World Stadium.
Two players met with the media at the conclusion of the Day for Kids event as senior defensive lineman Omari Thomas and redshirt-senior tight end Jacob Warren talked about their opportunity to spend time with local kids in the area.
The Day for Kids outing included members from the Tennessee and Iowa football teams as both squads got an opportunity to meet and interact with local kids from Orlando. The players and kids had the chance to ride various rides at the amusement park and also got to meet the official Cheez-It mascot, Ched-Z.
After a fun-filled morning, the Big Orange headed back to the campus of UCF for its fourth bowl practice since arriving in Orlando. Tennessee will hold its final bowl practice on Sunday afternoon as it puts the finishing touches on preparations for Monday's showdown with the Hawkeyes.
Prior to Sunday's practice, UT head coach Josh Heupel will join Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz for a joint press conference in the morning at the Rosen Plaza Hotel. That press conference will be uploaded to UTSports.com after it concludes.
