KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Postseason racing rolls on as the No. 21 Vols and No. 15 Lady Vols gear up for the NCAA South Regional Championships set for Friday morning at Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Florida.
The event's schedule features the women's 6K championship race, opening the regional meet at 8:30 a.m. ET, followed by the men's 10K race at 9:30 a.m. For real-time results, fans can rely on PTTiming, accessible HERE. A live stream of the race will also be provided at this LINK.
This regional competition showcases Division I teams from Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Mississippi. The top two finishing men's and women's programs will secure automatic berths to the NCAA National Championships next week in Charlottesville, Virginia. Individual spots at the national meet will also be up for grabs, with the top four individual finishers who are not part of NCAA-qualifying teams vying for a place on the national stage.
Both the Vols and Lady Vols are entering this weekend's showdown with momentum on their side, with each squad holding the No. 2 ranking in the South Region. Their recent performance at the SEC Championships – where they both clinched third-place finishes – marked a historic milestone. It was the first time since 2001 that both teams achieved a top-three position at the conference meet.
Leading the charge for the Lady Vols are All-SEC performers Ashley Jones, Rachel Sutliff, Jessie Secor, Jillian Candelino, and Caroline Lyerly. The squad is bolstered by Kayla Gholar, Andie-Marie Jones, and Callie Tucker.
Meanwhile, the Vols are poised to defend their 2022 South Region title with a lineup consisting of Yaseen Abdalla, Gabriel Sanchez, Dean Casey, Brandon Olden, and Jacob Lewis. The men's squad adds Brett Brady, Eli Nahom, Jacob Nenow, and Nate Kawalec to complete the team traveling to Gainesville.
At the SEC meet, Abdalla, Sanchez, Casey, and Nenow achieved All-SEC accolades.
