Knecht Tabbed to Maui Invitational All-Tournament Team

HONOLULU – Dalton Knecht of the University of Tennessee men's basketball team garnered Allstate Maui Invitational All-Tournament recognition, as announced Thursday afternoon.
A fifth-year guard, Knecht averaged a team-best 15.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.0 block per game for No. 7/8 Tennessee (4-2) across three outings, including two against the teams ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in the nation. He shot 46.7 percent (7-of-15) from 3-point range at SimpliFi Arena at the Stan Sheriff Center.
The Thornton, Colo., native finished as the seventh-leading scorer in a tournament that featured, based off the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll, six top-25 teams, including five in the top 10, three of the top five and each of the top two. He also tied for fifth in both blocks and 3-point percentage (min. three 3PA), as well as placed No. 12 in rebounding.
Knecht and the Volunteers resume competition Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. against No. 14 North Carolina at the Dean E. Smith Center in Chapel Hill, N.C., in the inaugural ACC/SEC Challenge, live on ESPN.
