Vescovi Tabbed to Wooden Award Preseason Top 50 Watch List

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Santiago Vescovi of the University of Tennessee men's basketball team is among the 50 players nationwide on the Wooden Award Preseason Top 50 Watch List, as announced Tuesday afternoon on SportsCenter.
This is the second consecutive season Vescovi, a fifth-year guard, is on the list. He is joined by four other SEC players: Auburn's Johni Broome, Kentucky's Justin Edwards, Mississippi State's Tolu Smith and Texas A&M's Wade Taylor IV.
A First Team All-SEC designee in both 2021-22 and 2022-23, Vescovi ranks No. 26 all-time at Tennessee with 1,325 points. He is third in made 3-pointers (282), sixth in steals (176) and No. 11 in assists (370), among several other notable positions in the Volunteers' record books.
The 6-foot-3, 196-pounder was also selected to the Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy Preseason Watch List on the opening day of the season. He is coming off a 2022-23 campaign during which he posted 12.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.8 steals per game.
Vescovi and No. 7/8 Tennessee (2-0) continue play Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. versus Wofford at Food City Center, live on SEC Network+.
