KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – After a 6-2 start to the season, Tennessee football is ranked No. 17 in the first edition of the College Football Playoff rankings released by the selection committee on Tuesday night.
The Vols are one of six Southeastern Conference teams in the rankings, joining No. 2 Georgia, No. 8 Alabama, No. 10 Ole Miss, No. 12 Missouri and No. 14 LSU.
After taking on UConn for Homecoming on Saturday, Tennessee will turn its attention back to conference play where it faces back-to-back CFP top 12 teams—at No. 12 Missouri on Nov. 11 and versus No. 2 Georgia on Nov. 18.
