Football Moves Up In Both Polls, Awaits First CFP Rankings Tuesday

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Following a hard-fought 33-27 road win at Kentucky, Tennessee football continued its climb in the national polls, moving to No. 16 in the AFCA Coaches poll and No. 19 in the Associated Press Top 25.Â
The Vols (6-2, 3-2 SEC) jumped four spots in the Coaches poll, representing their 24th consecutive week in the top 20. They are ranked in the AP Top 25 for 25 straight weeks.Â
Tennessee has two ranked foes remaining on its schedule as it will travel to No. 14 Missouri on Nov. 11 and then host top-ranked Georgia on Nov. 18.Â
The Vols are bowl eligible with at least six victories for the third consecutive season under head coach Josh Heupel, who improved to 3-0 against the Wildcats on Saturday night.Â
Tennessee now awaits its position in the first College Football Playoff rankings, which will be announced at 7 p.m. ET Tuesday on ESPN.Â
