Five NCAA Top 10 Marks Wrap Strong Weekend At Bob Pollock Invite

CLEMSON, S.C. — The Tennessee track & field program showed out on Saturday afternoon at the Bob Pollock Invitational, posting five marks that currently rank inside the top 10 nationally for the 2022-23 indoor season and running UT's weekend total to nine NCAA top 10 performances at the Clemson Indoor Track & Field Complex.
Four-time All-American Charisma Taylor made a splash in her first triple jump competition of the season, winning the event on her first jump with a mark of 13.86m (45-5.75). The mark was 10 centimeters shy of her program record set at the 2022 NCAA Championships and currently ranks as the No. 2 mark in the NCAA this season.
The Nassau, Bahamas, native had a phenomenal series with four jumps above 13.70 meters, including leaps of 13.85m, 13,79m and 13.72m to round out Saturday's final.
The Vols dominated the men's 200-meter dash, with Javonte Harding and Emmanuel Bynum posting the top two times in the SEC this season. Harding finished first in 20.60, improving his standing as the No. 2 performer in the NCAA this season, while Bynum clocked a 20.69 for second at Clemson and the No. 4 time in the nation during the 2022-23 indoor campaign.
Harding's time was a season-best and bettered his mark as the No. 6 indoor 200-meter in Tennessee history.
On the women's side, redshirt junior Jacious Sears built upon her impressive weekend with a personal-best time of 23.18 to finish as the top collegiate athlete and third overall at the Bob Pollock Invite. She ranks No. 8 in the NCAA this season and moved up three spots to No. 6 on UT's all-time top 10 list in the indoor 200-meter dash. Her time also stands as the third fastest performance in the SEC in 2023.
Fifth-year senior Joella Lloyd finished right behind Sears in the 200, clocking a new PR of 23.38 that ranks 14th in the country and sixth in the conference this season.
Wrapping up the meet with the men's 4x400-meter relay, Tennessee finished third as Bynum, Jakwan Hale, Clément Ducos and Rasheeme Griffith completed the event in 3:06.10. The relay featured a 45.81 leadoff split from Bynum and a 46.39 anchor from Griffith as the group posted the No. 6 time in Volunteer history and the No. 9 mark in the country this season.
